A horse was rescued by firefighters last week after falling down a slope.

Fire crews from Leek, Ipstones and Cannock, Staffordshire were called to the incident at Quarnford on February 2.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Leek, Ipstones and Cannock were called to Oldikes, Quarnford, Staffordshire shortly before 10am on February 2 after reports a horse had fallen down a slope and was unable to get up.

"Great teamwork saw the horse lifted to safety.

"He was then assessed by a vet.”
