Charity, Wirral Mencap, has received a donation of £84,000 from The Steve Morgan Foundation.
Based in Birkenhead, Wirral Mencap offers support to those with learning disabilities, providing opportunities and information. They are an independent charity who work closely with families and deliver projects in the Wirral.
The donation, which is payable over three years, will enable the charity to provide even more support and opportunities to people with a learning disability, and their families
In order to maintain its wide range of services for local people, from help and support with paperwork and access to services, to drop-in clubs and social activities, the charity raises all its own funds.
At the organisation’s recent Annual General Meeting, the award was formally presented to the organisation by Gosia McKane, on behalf of The Steve Morgan Foundation.
Gosia said: "Small charities have a huge impact on the lives of those they help and we are delighted to be able to give something back to the local community in this way."
