A mum from Rayleigh has raised an impressive £1,250 for the National Deaf Children's Society.
Having successfully completed the Chelmsford Half Marathon, Lucy Perrins was able to smash her fundraising target and finish the race in just one hour and 56 minutes.

Felsted School hosts Model United Nations conference for students

Felsted School invited students from across the region to join them for a Model United Nations conference at their school near Dunmow in Essex.
Students joined in with debates and discussions while attempting to solve some of the biggest problems facing the world today.

Chelmsford-based novelist wins prestigious award

An author from Chelmsford has won a prestigious award for her romantic novel, Winter at Cliff's End Cottage.
Sheila Norton, who splits her time between Essex and Devon, was delighted to receive the award for her 23rd novel, and is looking forward to writing more.

Phoenix FM controller takes on 874-mile challenge for Saint Francis Hospice

Paul Golder, boss of Brentwood-based radio station Phoenix FM, will be walking to raise money for Saint Francis Hospice.
Paul will be walking for up to six hours a day as he cover the 874-mile journey from Lands End in Cornwall to John O'Groats in Scotland. His epic challenge will take him 10 weeks to complete and he hopes to raise £5,000 for the hospice.
