Chelmsford hospice hosts Spring Ball in honour of Andy Glew

The wife of a former patient at Farleigh Hospice joined forces with the events team to organise a glittering fundraiser.
Sarah Grew wanted to get involved after her husband, Andy, was able to access the services available from the hospice before he sadly passed away.
Guests at the event enjoyed an evening of dinner and dancing and helped to raised over £25,000 to ensure that the hospice is able to offer ongoing care to those who need it.

Care homes across Essex celebrate Saint Patrick's Day

Care homes across the county celebrated Saint Patrick's day with tea parties, dressing up and even a cheeky sup of Guinness.
Runwood Homes in Wickford, Brentwood, Langdon Hills and Thaxted all found different ways to mark the day, with a good time being had by all.

Chelmsford bridge club celebrates 25 years

The Brevion Bridge Club in Great Baddow, Chelmsford, reached its 25th anniversary this year.
Club founders Ron Webb and Carolyn Irving are planning to step down, but are handing the reins over to a well-qualified successor reassured that the club will continue to go from strength to strength.

Stansted care home residents enjoy kidding around with four-legged friends

A care home in Stansted Mountfitchet received a visit from some cute and cuddly baby goats this week.
As part of an animal therapy session, the residents learned about the history and characteristics of the goats, as well as other interesting facts about the friendly animals.

Witham school celebrates its "unsung heroes"

Staff at New Rickstones Academy, in Witham, have been rewarded for all of their hard work in an annual awards ceremony.
The event was held to honour the behind-the-scenes staff that ensure the smooth running of the school, every day of the year.
