Here at the InYourArea Community News Team we love local and look to bring you as many news stories each week as we can.

This fortnightly round-up features a selection of some of the news stories from Hart District, Surrey Heath and the surrounding areas that we've told about your community that you may have missed between January 30 and February 12.

It will involve writing regular letters to the residents at Camberley Manor and developing lifelong friendships.

As the exchange develops, the residents hope to be able to meet their pen pals in person.

Waverley hoppa Community Transport serves the communities in and around Farnham, Godalming, Haslemere and Cranleigh and had been run by Steve Forward since 2005.

During that time, the fleet increased from eight buses to 25, and the service expects to soon carry its one millionth passenger.

Mike Marshall, 87, a former marketer, decided to give online dating a go after his wife passed away.

He connected with Patty Davey, who was living in Anchor’s retirement development Keble Court in Church Crookham, and there was an immediate attraction.

Some shops may have to reduce opening hours if volunteer recruitment remains low. This could reduce funds that can be turned into life-saving heart research.

Roles at the charity can be for a few hours each week or a few days. Volunteers can get involved in tasks such as telephone and logistical administration, operating tills, merchandising on the shop floor and answering customer queries.

Jackson Pollock was born in 1912 and is most famous for his distinctive style of dripping, pouring and spraying paint to create his distinctive paintings.

One resident said: “Oh my goodness, we have all laughed so much today."
