This fortnightly round-up features a selection of some of the news stories from Hart District that we've told about your community that you may have missed between February 1 and 13.
Captain Sir Tom captured the hearts of the nation during the first lockdown after walking 100 laps of his garden in Bedfordshire.
After his death, Hart District Council decided to pay its own respect to the WWII army veteran by flying the flag at half mast at the council offices, in Fleet, Hampshire.

All Saints Church was ravaged by fire in 2015 and is set for a rebuild, but do you know why it was originally built?
All Saints Church was consecrated in 1862 as a testament to the love of the local squire, Charles Lefroy of Crondall for his young wife Janet, who had died.
Sadly, Charles never saw the church completed.

A small grants scheme launched by Hart District Council in partnership with Hart Voluntary Action will support projects which aim to reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing in the area.
Voluntary groups, community organisations, and parish and town councils are invited to submit their ideas and projects considered to meet the aims and remit of the programme can apply for a grant of up to £2,500.

Hook In Bloom has received a welcome boost after the new estate agents in the village pledged their support for the initiative.
Bridges Hook’s office manager Kevin Winchester was so taken aback by Hook’s 2021 Poppy Challenge that he got in touch with Hook In Bloom to see how Bridges could help.
By the time he had finished his conversation he was won over by the many aspects of the In Bloom project and knew he wanted the estate agency to be a part of it.
