This fortnightly round-up features a selection of some of the news stories from Hart District that we've told about your community that you may have missed between April 12 and 25.

An extreme athlete and former soldier from Hampshire has completed a 50-hour five marathon run to raise money to help a 12-year-old girl who is battling a rare genetic disorder.

Darren Hardy, from Fleet, Hampshire, took on the superhuman challenge over the weekend, a challenge which pushed him close to breaking point.

Grazing cattle are set to be reintroduced to Hazeley Heath in Hartley Wintney following a successful 5-year grazing trial and consultation period.

Hart District Council’s Countryside Service is working in partnership with the RSPB to return the cattle to the area.

The main grazing zone will be managed using invisible fencing grazing technology, with the cattle being trained to the system before being put on site.

It's now not long until residents across Hart will be heading to the polls to take part in local elections.

The elections will see candidates across the region battle it out for seats in district councils, borough councils and county councils, as well as for the roles of police and crime commissioners.

Hart District Council has announced that all residents are now able to collect free coronavirus testing kits twice a week as the country continues it's fight back against the virus.

Following the news that free rapid coronavirus tests will be offered to everyone in England, home test kits are available for collection from the Apex Centre at the Council Offices in Fleet, Hampshire.

Former Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp is set to perform at the first full capacity re-opening of The Harlington in Fleet, Hampshire.

The first event held at the venue with a full capacity since the start of the pandemic in 2020, Martin Kemp: The Ultimate Back to the 80's DJ set will see the music and TV star perform a number of the decade's most loved tunes on June 25.
