In case you missed it: Five Rushmoor stories from the past fortnight

Here at the InYourArea Community News Team we love local and look to bring you as many news stories each week as we can.

This fortnightly round-up features a selection of some of the news stories from Rushmoor that we've told about your community that you may have missed between January 16 and January 29.

As part of the project, Leo Docherty, MP for Aldershot, councillor David Clifford, leader of Rushmoor Borough Council, and councillor Martin Tennant, cabinet member for major projects, joined senior representatives of Rye Demolition Group for a tour of the ongoing regeneration.

Rye Group has also confirmed the project will create a number of non-permanent employment opportunities for residents in Aldershot and the surrounding areas.

The service provides free support to help people stop smoking. Its team of advisers can offer support on living without cigarettes such as how to deal with cravings and cope with withdrawal symptoms.

As part of the support, Smoke Free Hampshire can provide a free supply of nicotine replacement therapy, such as patches or gum, posted directly to residents' doors, or an e-cigarette voucher.

Aaron explained that his mum Gail has had struggles with mental health and her experience motivated him to help others.

Mind is a charity which provides advice and support to anyone experiencing a mental health problem.

Beryl Yeomans and Judi Page were recognised as having made a significant contribution to Aldershot and Farnborough in Hampshire.

The second award will be given posthumously to the family of Judi Page at a separate, private event.

Farnborough College of Technology was selected as one of 10 colleges in the Edtech Top 50, an award that celebrates organisations shaping the use of education technology across the UK.

In addition to this award, four members of teaching staff at the College have also achieved Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert status, a title recognising their up-to-date training and use of technology to support learners’ education.
