Here at the InYourArea Community News Team we love local and look to bring you as many news stories each week as we can.

This fortnightly round-up features a selection of some of the news stories from Rushmoor that we've told about your community that you may have missed between January 17 and 30.

A six-year-old boy from Hampshire is undertaking a fundraising challenge in a bid to raise as much money as possible in the battle against a condition which has seen his nan’s life change.

Blue Warren-Smith from Aldershot, Hampshire, is running three kilometres without stopping alongside his mum Sarah to raise money for Meniere’s Society after his nan was diagnosed with the condition last year.

A local school has welcomed a new addition to its cohort to help pupils deal with anxiety and stress.

Humphrey, a miniature labradoodle puppy, has joined the team at St Peter’s Junior School in Farnborough, Hampshire.

Owned and paid for by the school’s business manager Julie Mynott, Humphrey began his phased introduction at the school on January 11 and has already brought great joy to staff and children alike.

An estate agency with branches in Aldershot and Farnborough has been helping school children as they adapt to home learning during lockdown.

Romans have been offering to print work off for free for local school children who are unable to at home.

Printing is only available to those in the local area, with government coronavirus guidelines and social distancing adhered to when printing is collected.

A charity that helps young people at risk of homelessness across the area has received a £100,000 fundraising boost from Barclays.

As part of the bank’s 100x100 UK Covid-19 Community Relief Programme, Step by Step, located in Aldershot, received the funding to help  a variety of projects and resources.

Members from a local choir group who have been unable to meet in person due to the third national lockdown have turned to technology to produce their second virtual performance.

After receiving positive feedback to the first virtual performance, the group, which was founded in 1960, has recently recorded a version of You Raise Me Up, originally made famous by Josh Groban and also by Westlife.
