Surrey pupils help environmental experts tackle climate change

Seven primary school teams from across Surrey, Middlesex and Doha, Qatar have been selected as finalists of the inaugural ACS Future Impact competition, organised by ACS International Schools.
The pupils will now be mentored by sustainability professionals from organisations including Allianz, Unilever and University of Surrey.

Ashtead mum's maths programme for children with learning difficulties wins £5k

A mum's maths programme for children with learning difficulties has been named as the winner of a business bursary worth £5,000.
Celebrity entrepreneur Carol Vorderman announced Maths For Life as the winner of the grant from Starling Bank, following a nationwide search for small business customers with growth potential.

Children's mental health charity opens new headquarters in Redhill

A Surrey-based children’s mental health charity has moved its headquarters to Redhill during its 25th anniversary year.
Since its inception in 1997, Learning Space has worked alongside schools and the NHS in Surrey to support young people with a range of emotional and behavioural issues.

Guildford Cathedral's Seasons hosts Rhythm & Blues event

A popular rhythm and blues duo is set to return after a sold-out show in November 2021.
Guildford Cathedral’s residentiary canon Chris Hollingshurst and Guildford diocese’s mission enabler Danny Wignall known as Red House Rhythm & Blues Duo will be performing at the cathedral's Season's Café on Friday, April 29 from 7pm.

Volunteers invigorate hedgerows in Surrey to help wildlife

Surrey Wildlife Trust has trained more than 100 volunteers to invigorate the growth of hedgerows across the North Downs in Surrey and give hope to iconic hazel dormice. S
The new volunteer task force has surveyed an incredible 27km of hedgerows and planted and laid 2km, learning historic countryside skills so they can create beautiful hedgerows to help populations of dormice expand.
