Community members sleep rough for YMCA East Surrey's 10th Sleep Easy event

YMCA East Surrey held its 10th Sleep Easy event this month with participants sleeping rough overnight in support of the young homeless.
Local companies also paid to 'sponsor a box', virtual participants swapped their beds for floors or sofas at their homes and two Guides groups joined in at another venue.

Paralympic star returns to inspire her former Epsom school

Pupils at a primary school in Epsom, Surrey, were given a lesson in just how far determination and ambition can take you when a former pupil and Paralympic star paid a visit.
Beth Moulam, who was part of the Great Britain boccia team at the games in Tokyo last summer, returned to The Vale school on Beaconsfield Road to share the story of her spectacular rise.

Consultation launched for Egley Road development in Woking

The community of Woking, Surrey, is being invited to give feedback and comment on new development proposals for land west of Egley Road ahead of a planning application to be submitted later this year.
Cala Homes is launching the consultation, which is taking place at a local in-person event and online.

Cobham school set for cricket tournament in St Lucia

Year 7 and Year 8 pupils at a Cobham school in Surrey, will head to St Lucia in the Caribbean this week to play cricket in the school's first international tournament since the pandemic began.
Pupils from Parkside School will fly out on Friday, March 25, where they will play nine games over one week.

Free sports training for Surrey junior beginners

After a two-year break due to the pandemic, a multi-activity youth event is set to return to Surrey, and is open now to beginners across a range of events.
For more than two decades the Specsavers Surrey Youth Games has been giving selected young people their first taste of a way to stay active and build new skills – all for free.
