Jack Petchey Foundation recognise young people's achievements

A live event was held recently at The Kensington Great Hall at which 106 incredible young people from Police Cadet Force units, received their prestigious Jack Petchey Foundation Awards.
The live event celebrated Achievement Award winners aged 11-25 from Southwark for their contributions to their unit, where winners received medallions and framed certificates from the Foundation along with a £300 grant for them to spend to benefit their unit.
In addition, 6 adults were awarded Leader Awards for demonstrating outstanding ability to motivate young people. They each received a medallion and a framed certificate.
Sutton has received funding of over £2m from the Jack Petchey Foundation since funding started.
These are a are few inspiring stories from Achievement Award winners.

Macy Walker-Youngs, 17, who attends Police Cadets Metropolitan Sutton 01, has been awarded the Jack Petchey Achievement Award for significant contributions to her unit. She has volunteered in various events, helped with Junior Cadet Camps, as well as achieving the highest rank of Head Cadet. She has also participated in several cadet competitions, achieving great results.
Macy decided to spend her £300 Jack Petchey Achievement Award grant on a Zip line activity for participants of Gold Duke of Edinburgh.

Jack Leahy, 18, who attends Police Cadets Metropolitan Sutton 01, has been awarded the Jack Petchey Achievement Award for his proactiveness and eagerness to take opportunities to learn in his unit.
His eagerness to understand cadet policies and what it means to be a cadet led to his rapid entry into the Gravesend Cadet Competition. As part of the team, Jack played a key role, and the team placed third overall in the competition.
Jack has consistently been an outstanding cadet, eager to learn and engage in what it means to be a Police Cadet and a police officer. Jack is an excellent example of seizing every opportunity that comes his way.
As a result of his willingness to participate, he excelled in cadets, achieving the rank of Deputy Head Cadet. Most recently, he acted as the team leader for the Sutton Team in the Thriftwood Competition 2023.
Jack decided to spend his £300 Jack Petchey Achievement Award grant on his unit to enter into the Thriftwood Competition 2023.
