June jobs fair in Blaby - all you need to know

Looking for a new job, career advice, or volunteering opportunities? Join the Blaby District Council Job Fair on Wednesday, June 5, from 3pm to 5:30pm at the Council offices on Desford Road, Narborough.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for anyone seeking a fresh challenge, job advice, or training information. Attendees will have the chance to connect with employers and organisations that have vacancies or offer career guidance.

Among the first-time participants are the Royal Air Force, Leicestershire Police, Dealer Auctions and Noble Foods, alongside many other local employers seeking new recruits. Coinciding with National Volunteering Week (Monday, June 2 - 9), the fair will also highlight numerous local volunteering opportunities.

Representatives from groups such as Voluntary Action Leicestershire and the Leicestershire Home Library Lending Service will be present to discuss their work and how you can get involved. Blaby District Council’s Human Resources Team will be available to chat about current vacancies and direct attendees to other organisations.

Among the roles available are Team Leaders within Licensing and Environmental Health departments. Marc Greenwood, Executive Director of Place at Blaby District Council, said: “Ensuring our residents have the best access to employment and training is one of our top priorities.

"Our Job Fairs are a key part of this effort. This event will also emphasise volunteering, offering valuable advice for those interested in helping within our communities. Whether you’re looking for a new job, want to improve your skills, or learn about volunteering options, our Job Fair is for you.”

Thomas Wilson from GoLearn! (Leicestershire Adult Learning Service), a long-standing exhibitor at the Council job fairs, added: “We always enjoy attending Blaby District events. We’ve supported many people in further education and employment.

"We assist with everything from CV writing to improving English and Maths, digital skills, and mental health and wellbeing. These events are excellent for connecting jobseekers with supportive businesses and organisations.”

Local business G Palmer and Son (Nurserymen) Limited will also be hiring on the day, offering full and part-time positions in their cafes. For more information, visit Employment and Skills Opportunities - Blaby District Council.
