Ayrshire Cancer Support are asking fundraisers to swap the luxury of their bed for a tent in wintery weather to participate in their fundraising event, Extreme Camp Out for Cancer.

Saturday, February 19 will see the centre of Ayr Racecourse lit up with rows of tents as campers battle the elements to help raise funds for those affected by cancer.

Participants, who will be camping out from 9pm until 7am, will be aiming to raise £200 in sponsorship which will guarantee their pitch and certain costs, including entertainment.

The charity have confirmed a pop-up cinema and live cooking demo from 40night extreme camper to keep participants entertained in the early part of the evening.

Megan Porter, ACS Community and Events Co-Ordinator, said: “Our Extreme Camp out for Cancer event is an opportunity to push yourself out your comfort zone and raise as much as you can to help those affected by cancer in Ayrshire.

“I encourage you to bring together a dream team of friends and family to motivate each other and brace the extreme winter conditions for one night and one night only!

“We are fast approaching our maximum capacity of 150 tents so sign up now to secure your pitch – trust me, you won’t want to miss it.”
