Leek Allotment Holders and Gardeners Association are to hold a 2020 virtual Christmas Show.

Now residents from across the Staffordshire Moorlands are urged to take part in one or more of the classes available.

Organiser Suzanne Sheldon said “After such a fabulous response to our virtual show in August, we thought we would have a Christmas Virtual Show.

“If you enjoy growing, baking, crafting or flower arranging why not join us and take part.

"All we ask is that you take a photograph, where possible on a non-patterned single coloured surface, and send to me by email suzsheldon@btinternet.com."

Exhibits will be judged by David Lownds and Lorraine Simcox who will award placements as in a normal show – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Highly commended and commended.

Suzanne  said: “Once I have received your entries, I will submit them to the judges without your names so they can be judged fairly.

"The deadline for your photos is midnight on Saturday, December 5 and results will be posted shortly afterwards.

"You will also receive the results by email together with any certificates."

The following classes are available:

Winter Vegetables (Please include a pen in the photo so size can be assessed)

  • Class 1: One cabbage (Red, Round or Savoy with 3” stalks
  • Class 2: Two Leeks (Blanched or Pot)
  • Class 3: Two Swedes or Turnips
  • Class 4: One Winter Cauliflower, Kale or Spinach
  • Class 5: 10 Brussel Sprouts on a plate
  • Class 6: Three Carrots with 3” tops
  • Class 7: One collection of any kind of Winter Vegetables on a white or black background

Christmas Cheer

  • Class 8: A photograph of a Robin from your garden
  • Class 9: Three sprays of Holly or Mistletoe on a black background
  • Class 10: One Pointsettia in a pot
  • Class 11: One Cyclamen in a pot

Floral Art (Adult)

  • Class 12: ‘It’s the Most Wonderful Time Of the Year’. An exhibit to depict the title using fresh flowers and foliage. Accessories may be used.

Floral Art (Children

  • Class 13: ‘All I want for Christmas is?’ An exhibit to depict the title using fresh flowers and foliage. Accessories may be used.

Domestic (Adult

  • Class 14: A decorated Christmas cake – to be judged from the top and sides.

Domestic (Children)

  • Class 15: A decorated cupcake to be viewed from the top.

Craft Class (Adults and children)

  • Class 16: ‘All Wrapped Up!’. A gift wrapped Parcel or bag using any medium
