A Leicester charity has recently appointed a new case manager to provide support and mentoring to the city's homeless community.
Keith Neville will be responsible for introducing a new trauma-based Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) approach to interactions with homeless guests at The Bridge Homelessness to Hope.
He will also be a daily point of contact, assist other case workers, line manage the charity's team, support the mentor coordinator, and liaise with Leicester City Council's Housing Department and other external service providers.
Commenting on his appointment, Keith Neville said: "The Bridge Homelessness to Hope is a passionate charity with a real team ethos.
"I'm looking forward to helping the team to roll out the new PIE environment to continue to build trust and rapport with our guests."
Prior to joining The Bridge Homelessness to Hope, Keith Neville was a mental health recovery worker at Turning Point, the integrated substance misuse service for Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
Previously, he was in education for 12 years as a Director of Learning in two Leicestershire schools and is studying part-time for his Level 2 counselling qualifications.
Keith said: "My background is from a demanding education environment where I was used to responding to the varied needs of young people, many of whom were from disadvantaged backgrounds.
"This new role will build upon this experience and enable me to help people in a more direct way, helping to support some of our city's most vulnerable individuals."
