Leicestershire traffic: a round-up of recent notices

The following temporary traffic regulation orders have recently been announced:

Owston Road, Knossington

An emergency road closure was required on Owston Road, approximately 200m south of its junction with Main Street, from June 11. The road will reopen once works are completed.

The TTRO was implemented for public safety for Severn Trent Water to facilitate emergency repairs.

Baggrave End, Barsby

A road closure and no waiting or loading order was required on Baggrave End for approximately 50 metres from the Old Oak Cottage on June 9 for three days.

Following investigations, Severn Trent Water will visit the site, but until then the road will remain closed pending investigations.

The TTRO will be implemented for public safety so Leicestershire County Council can investigate the cause and repair carriageway deterioration. There is no proposed diversion route for this work.

Sibson Road, Sheepy Parva

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow STW and their contractors to undertake the installation of a new water connection. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of three days commencing on August 2.

Reservoir Road, Thornton

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Leicestershire County Council to facilitate footway repairs and any other associated work to the highway. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of two days commencing on July 13.

Prow YY66, South Kilworth

A footpath closure was required between Grange Gardens and Leys Crescent on June 24 for one day.

The TTRO was implemented for public safety for Leicestershire County Council to facilitate footway patching works.

NWL0846 Footpath Q9, Appleby

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Cadent Gas to safely facilitate a new connection. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary right of way closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of five days commencing August 16.

Swingbridge Street, Foxton

A road closure and prohibition of waiting and loading was required on Swingbridge Street, Foxton, between Main Street and The Manor House on June 22 for one day.

The TTRO was implemented for public safety for Leicestershire County Council to facilitate tree pruning works. The proposed alternative diversion route was via: Main Street and vice versa.

Coventry Road, Broughton Astley

A prohibition of waiting and loading is required on Coventry Road, Broughton Astley, between Blenheim Crescent and Orchard Road, on June 29 for one day between 09.00 - 15.00.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Leicestershire County Council to facilitate patching works.

Main Street, Great Bowden

The emergency prohibition of waiting and loading required on Main Street, Great Bowden, between Gunnsbrook Close and The Green, and Langton Road, Great Bowden from Main Street for approximately 40m, has been extended for a further 21 days from June 18.

The TTRO will be implemented for public safety for Leicestershire County Council to facilitate prohibition of waiting due to parking safety issues.

Sutton Lane, Broughton Astley

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Leicestershire County Council to facilitate the installation of new gullies. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of two days commencing on July 8.

Frolesworth Road, Broughton Astley

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Leicestershire County Council to facilitate carriageway patching works. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of three days commencing on August 4.

Church Lane, Ravenstone

A road closure is required on Church Lane on June 29 for one night from 19.00 to 06.00. These works are weather dependant and may be delayed and carried on a subsequent evening.

Works take approximately two hours to complete. The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Severn Trent Water to facilitate the maintenance of flood monitoring equipment.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Wash Lane, Leicester
Road, Main Street, and vice versa.

Midland Road, Ellistown

A road closure is required on Midland Road on June 29 between 20.00 to 06.00. These works are weather dependant and may be delayed and carried on a subsequent evening. Works take approximately two hours to complete.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Severn Trent Water to facilitate maintenance of flood monitoring equipment.

North End, Hallaton

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Maypine Construction Limited, on behalf of Grace Homes, to facilitate development works for Grace Homes. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of five weeks commencing on July 19.

Berridges Lane, Husbands Bosworth

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Leicestershire County Council to facilitate footway patching works.

The TTRO will incorporate a temporary prohibition of waiting and loading. The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of one day commencing on August 4.

Cross Roads, Illston on the Hill

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Leicestershire County Council to facilitate carriageway patching works. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of one day commencing on August 5.

Heath Road, Bagworth

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow BT/Telent and their contractors to undertake repairs to their apparatus. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of seven days commencing on August 20. The road will be closed between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00 and will be open outside of these times.

Footpath from Long Grey to Coneygrey, Fleckney

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Leicestershire County Council to facilitate footway patching works. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary footpath closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of one day commencing on August 11.

Manor Road, Desford

An urgent road closure was required on Manor Road, Desford, on June 20 for up to one day. The work is being carried out on a Sunday to try and minimise disruption.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Leicestershire County Council to facilitate urgent carriageway patching and any other associated work to the highway.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be signed on site. Access to properties will be maintained, but a short delay in gaining access will occur whilst the area is made safe.

Croxton Road, Saltby

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Severn Trent Water to carry out a new service installation. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of three days commencing on August 3.
