Leicestershire traffic: a round-up of recent temporary orders

The following temporary traffic regulation orders have recently been announced:

Various roads in Oadby and Wigston

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at various locations throughout Oadby and Wigston for the following events:

• Band Event, Wigston
• Motor Show, Oadby
• Evening Motor Show, Oadby

Temporary no waiting at any time (no parking) - except for vehicles as part of the event:

• Wigston - July 31 - Band Event: Bell Street, from outside Peacocks to outside Two Steeples Pub
• Oadby - August 8 - Motor Show: The Parade, from outside Oadby House to outside Natwest bank/Chestnut Avenue, from outside the Pet Shop to the junction with The Parade
• Oadby - September 5 - Motor Show Evening: The Parade, from outside Oadby House to outside Natwest bank/ Chestnut Avenue, from outside the Pet Shop to the junction with The Parade

Temporary prohibition of through traffic (road closure):

• Wigston - July 31 - Band Event: Bell Street, from outside Peacocks to outside Two Steeples Pub
• Oadby - August 8 - Motor Show: The Parade, from outside Oadby House to outside Natwest bank/Chestnut Avenue, from outside the Pet Shop to the junction with The Parade
• Oadby - September 5 - Motor Show Evening: The Parade, from outside Oadby House to outside Natwest bank/Chestnut Avenue, from outside the Pet Shop to the junction with The Parade

Mountsorrel Lane, Sileby

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Leicestershire County Council to safely undertake carriageway patching works. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of one day commencing on October 11, 09.00 till 15.00.

Wykin Road, Hinckley

A road closure is required on Wykin Road, Hinckley between the roundabout with Stoke Road/Hollycroft and the junction with Palmer Road on August 9 for up to five days.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Vexford Homes and their contractors to undertake the required drainage/sewer connection work in the highway.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Stoke Road, Normandy Way and vice versa.

Highcross Street, Market Harborough

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Severn Trent Water to facilitate pipe renewal works. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of three days commencing on November 1.

Hamilton Lane, Scraptoft

A road closure is required on Hamilton Lane Scraptoft on August 9 for five days.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Go Traffic Management on behalf of Cadent Gas to undertake a new gas connection.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Main Street, Church Hill, Scraptoft Lane, New Romney Crescent and vice versa.

Moorbarns Lane, Lutterworth

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Severn Trent Water to facilitate a new water connection. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of one day commencing on September 5.

Cropston Road, Anstey

Cropston Road was due to be closed from August 2 for two nights, 20.00 till 06.00 each night.

The road was closed for one night only, on August 3, 20.00 till 06.00. The road was closed between the junction of Link Road and the junction of Anstey Lane.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order was implemented for public safety to allow RM Contractors Ltd to undertake resurfacing works in connection with the new development.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: The Nook, Leicester Road (Anstey), A5630 Anstey Lane, Bennion Road (Beaumont Leys), Ashton Green Road, Leicester Road, Anstey Lane (Thurcaston) and vice versa.

Main Street, Broughton Astley

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Severn Trent Water to facilitate a new water connection. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of one day commencing on September 12.

Church Street, Thurlaston

An emergency road closure was required on Church Street, Thurlaston, on August 2 for up to 21 days, but the order is expected to be in force for three days.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Severn Trent Water and associated contractors to facilitate emergency repairs.

The Woolrooms, Coleorton

An emergency road closure was required on The Woolrooms at its junction with Aqueduct Road on August 5. The road will reopen once works are completed.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Severn Trent Water to facilitate emergency repairs.

Brook Street, Huncote

A road closure is required on Brook Street, Huncote, from August 5. The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Western Power Distribution to repair a cable fault.

Iveshead Road/Abbey Road/Charley Road, Shepshed/Charley

Temporary road closures, temporary speed restrictions and temporary waiting and loading at any time restrictions are required on Iveshead Road, Charley Road, Abbey Road (Charley Crossroads) from August 23 for two days.

The roads will be closed on each approach to Charley Crossroads. During the works, a temporary 30mph speed restriction and temporary prohibition of waiting and loading at any time restriction will be enforced on each road approaching the Charley Crossroads.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety to allow Leicestershire County Council to safely undertake works to renew the high friction surfaces at the crossroads.

Barr lane, Higham on the Hill

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow STW and their contractors to undertake the installation of a new water connection. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of four days commencing on September 28.

Seagrave Road, Sileby

The works/closure of Seagrave Road was due to be complete Sunday, August 8. Due to unforeseen engineering difficulties, the road remained closed until the evening of Monday, August 9.

The road was closed between the junction of Sunnylands Drive and Jubilee Avenue. The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order was implemented for public safety to allow J.O Groundworks Ltd to complete works on new foul and drainage connections relating to the new development.

The proposed alternative diversion route was via: Big Lane (Seagrave), Paudy Lane, Melton Road, Sileby Road (Barrow Upon Soar), Barrow Road (Sileby) and vice versa.

Dawsons Road, Osgathorpe

An emergency road closure is required on Dawsons Road between Armetts Lane and Chapel Lane from August 6. Once works are completed, the road will reopen.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for Severn Trent Water to facilitate emergency infrastructure repairs.

Congerstone Lane, Shackerstone

An emergency road closure is required on Congerstone Lane, Shackerstone, on August 5 for up to 21 days. It is expected that the road will be closed for up to five days.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for STW to facilitate the repair to a sewer line.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be signed on site. Access to properties will be maintained, but a short delay in gaining access will occur whilst the area is made safe.

Heath Road, Bagworth

A road closure is required on Heath Road on August 23 for up to five working days from 9.00-17.00. The road will be open outside of these times.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order will be implemented for public safety for BT/Telent and their contractors to undertake repairs to their apparatus.

The proposed diversion route for the closure will be via: Heath Road, Bagworth and Thornton; Garland Lane, Barlestone; Barlestone Road, Bagworth and Thornton; Main Street, Bagworth and vice versa.

Brookside Drive, Oadby

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake carriageway patching work. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of one day on September 3.

Brook Street, Sileby

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Network Rail to safely undertake bridge maintenance works. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

These works were due to be undertaken on July 28. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the works were cancelled.

The works will now take place from September 8 for a period of three nights, 21.30 till 5.30 each night.

Park Road, Ratby

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow STW and their contractors to undertake sewer lining repairs. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of three days commencing on October 6.

Charley Road/Iveshead Road, Shepshed and Charley

Temporary road closures, temporary speed restrictions and temporary waiting and loading at any time restrictions were required on Iveshead Road, Charley Road, Abbey Road (Charley Crossroads) from August 23 for two days for Carriageway High Friction surfacing works.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the works have been temporarily cancelled.

Welham Lane, Great Bowden

These works have been postponed until September 20.
