The following temporary traffic regulation orders have recently been announced:

Coton Bridge Lane, Far Coton

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Leicestershire County Council to facilitate footway patching and any other associated work to the highway.

The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure. The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of one day, commencing on May 5.


Station Road, Glenfield

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake carriageway patching work. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of one day, commencing on Sunday, June 20.


King Street, Sileby

A temporary road closure is required on King Street from March 18 for two days. The road will be closed from the junction of Barrow Road to the junction with Burton Road from 18:00 - 06:00 only.

The TTRO will be implemented for public safety to allow Seven Trent Water to complete a mains repair in the carriageway.


Station Road, Glenfield

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake carriageway patching work. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of two Sundays on June 20 and 27.


Kibworth Road, Wistow

A road closure is required on Kibworth Road, Wistow, on March 31 for one day. The TTRO will be implemented for public safety for Leicestershire County Council to facilitate cattle grid replacement.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Leicester Road, Station Road, and vice versa.


Ullesthorpe Road, Gilmorton

A road closure is required on Ullesthorpe Road, Gilmorton, on April 1 for one day between 09:00 - 15:00.

The TTRO will be implemented for public safety for Leicestershire County Council to facilitate carriageway patching works.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Ashby Road (Gilmorton), Gilmorton Road (Ashby Magna), Dunton Road, A426 Lutterworth Road (Dunton Bassett), and vice versa.


Dragon Lane, Newbold Verdon

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Leicestershire County Council to facilitate carriageway patching and any other associated work to the highway.

The TTRO will incorporate a road closure and temporary parking restrictions. The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of one day, commencing on April 30.

The work will be carried out between the hours of 09:00 and 14:45. The road will be clear at all other times.


Stephenson Way, Coalville

A road closure is required on Stephenson Way, between Thornborough
Road and Whitwick Road roundabouts, from 20:00 on Thursday, April 1 until 06:00 on Tuesday, April 6.

The TTRO will be implemented for public safety for Metnor Construction to facilitate installation of a central refuge, carriageway resurfacing, and for National Energy Direct and Western Power Distribution to install new utility connections.

All works are in connection with the new Coalville Leisure Centre development. During the closures, alternative routes available to all traffic will be via:

Bardon Road, Coalville; Bardon Road, Beveridge Lane, Bardon, West
Lane, Victoria Road, Ellistown, Station Road, Wood Road, Battram, Wood
Road, Grange Lane, Grange Road, Ibstock Road, Nailstone, Hinckley
Road, Melbourne Road, Ibstock, Melbourne Road, Snibston, Ibstock
Road, Wash Lane, Swannington Road, Coalville, and vice versa.


Footpath I58, Syston

A temporary closure is required on footpath I58 from April 12 for up to 20 weeks. The footpath will be closed between Wanlip Road and Meadow Lane.

The TTRO will be implemented for public safety to allow Canal and River Trust to undertake works on the River Bank and Footpath.


Botts Lane, Appleby Magna

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Western Power Distribution to safely facilitate tree cutting. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of one day, commencing on June 7.


Heather Lane, Ravenstone

The purpose of the TTRO is to allow Severn Trent Water to safely facilitate new connections. The TTRO will incorporate a temporary road closure.

The duration of the restriction is not anticipated to exceed a period of three days, commencing on June 1.


Broome Lane, Station Road, Rearsby Road, East Goscote/Rearsby

Temporary road closures are required on Broome Lane, Rearsby Road, and Station Road from April 11. The roads will be closed on either side of the level crossings.

The works will be undertaken as follows:

  • Broome Lane - closed April 11 for one day, 07:30 till 14:00.
  • Broome Lane - closed May 10 for five nights, 20:30 till 06:00 each night.
  • Station Road - closed May 9 for one day, 07:30 till 14:00.
  • Station Road - closed May 10 for five nights, 20:30 till 06:00 each night.

The TTRO will be implemented for public safety to allow Network Rail to undertake maintenance works on the level crossings.


Gaddesby Lane, Rearsby Lane, Rearsby/Gaddesby

Temporary road closures are required on Gaddesby Lane and Rearsby Lane from April 19 for 10 days.

Gaddesby Lane will be closed from the A607 (Rearsby) to where it meets
Rearsby Lane (Gaddesby).

Rearsby Lane will be closed from Main Street (Gaddesby) to where it meets Gaddesby Lane (Rearsby).

The TTRO will be implemented for public safety to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake carriageway patching works.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: A607, Rearsby Road (Queniborough), Croxton Road (Queniborough), South Croxton Road (South Croxton), Station Road, Ashby Road (Ashby Folville), Ashby Road (Gaddesby), and vice versa.


Groby Road and Markfield Road, Ratby

From March 29, for up to three days, work will be carried out on Groby Road Service Road at the junction with Danehill.

This will mean access will be maintained, but it will be limited to the service road. Work will then move onto the verge between the service road and Groby Road. Traffic using Danehill will not be affected.

A road closure is then required on Groby Road between the junction with
Danehill and Bancroft Way on April 6 for up to five days. The road closure will be lifted by the end of Saturday, April 10.

Temporary traffic signals will then be required until April 13 to complete the work. A road closure is then required on Markfield Road between property number 86 and number 52 on April 19 for up to five days.

In conjunction with the work taking place on Markfield Road, access to Markfield Road Service Road will also be limited.

Properties 78/70 Markfield Road will be temporarily closed for up to two days, commencing on April 26, whilst work is carried out through the verge.

The TTRO will be implemented for public safety for Miller Homes, their contractors, and any other required utility to undertake the necessary work for the new development, including new connections and drainage installation.

The proposed alternative diversion route during the Groby Road closure will be via: Markfield Road, Ratby Lane, Launde Road, Markfield, A50 Leicester Road (Field Head), A50 Bradgate Hill, and A50 Markfield Road.


Leicester Road, Ravenstone

A road closure is required on Leicester Road, between Ravenslea and Main Street, on March 27 for two days.

The TTRO will be implemented for public safety for Lindum Group to facilitate carriageway resurfacing in connection to a development.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Ibstock Road, Ravenstone, Melbourne Road, Snibston, Melbourne Road, Ashby Road, Ibstock, Pisca Lane, Ravenstone Road, Heather, Heather Lane, Ravenstone, and vice versa.
