This week we were hoping to be whetting your whistle for the opening night of Death of a Salesman.

Unfortunately, despite their best efforts and regular testing, several cast and crew members have tested positive for Covid.

Our crisis committee leapt to action and made the very difficult decision to postpone the production until July 15-23, 2022.

We are all hoping it will be third time lucky for this show which was originally scheduled for March 2020.

Anybody who had already bought a ticket will be contacted to discuss transferring it to the rescheduled performance.

We are ever so grateful for the patience of our patrons whilst our volunteers complete this process.

We wish everyone concerned a speedy recovery.

The Youth Theatre's spring production promises to be an energetic and emotive piece of entertainment

At the time of writing this, the Youth Theatre are still in fine health and working on their spring production: The Wolves of Willoughby Chase.

Based on the novel by Joan Aiken MBE, this exciting adaptation is set in an alternative history where Europe is in a bitter winter and wolves have migrated to England via the channel tunnel.

Bonnie is the daughter of Lord Willoughby and Lady Green. Her parents are off to warmer climes for the health of Lady Green and leave her with Miss Slighcarp.

She is soon joined by orphan cousin Sylvia who has come from London. On their adventures they encounter peril but are saved by Simon, a self-sufficient lad who lives in a cave nearby.

Miss Slighcarp soon banishes them to the care of the horrid Miss Brisket and her dismal orphanage.

When Sylvia falls ill, they realise they must escape and return to Willoughby, but will they make it?

With a chorus narrating the action and oodles of opportunities for physical theatre, the young performers are able to develop many skills.


Their director, Paul Wilkinson, has form for bringing this out and the result is sure to be an energetic and emotive piece of entertainment.

Wolves of Willoughby Chase will be performed from March 8-12, 2022, so save the date and book your tickets.
