NEW MUSICIAL: Only two weeks left until The Wind in the Willows opens at the Little Theatre

There are only two weeks until the curtain raises on our spectacular summer show; the new musical adaptation of The Wind in the Willows.

The Wind in the Willows musical was written by Julian Fellowes, with music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, based on the classic 1908 novel of the same name, written by Kenneth Grahame.

It premiered at Theatre Royal in Plymouth in October 2016, transferring to the Lowry, then the Mayflower Theatre and on to the London Palladium where it was filmed for a cinema broadcast. The production attracted a star cast with popular performer Rufus Hound taking the role of Toad and Southport born talent Jenna Boyd in the dual roles of Gaoler’s Daughter and Mrs Hedgehog.

Our talented youth theatre are skilfully guided by director Paul Wilkinson. The show will be performed from August 23-27 at 7.30pm, with a 2.30pm matinee on the Saturday.

NEARLY SHOWTIME: The cast rehearsing for the musical 

Next Tuesday (August 16) we have another “talk-up”, this time for our November production, Ira Levin’s Deathtrap.

Written in 1978, Deathtrap holds the record for longest comedy-thriller on Broadway and was nominated for multiple Tony Awards. It was also adapted into the 1982 film starring Michael Cain, Dyan Cannon and Christopher Reeve.

There are five acting parts and plenty of backstage opportunities so if you are interested, please come to the Little Theatre at 7.30pm on Tuesday, August 16. Auditions will follow on Friday, August 19.
