NEARLY SHOWTIME: Rehearsals are going well for Sleeping Beauty

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Deathtrap for their excellent run last week.

Our audiences were thrilled in every sense of the word by this witty production.
To follow this, we know you will want something a little lighter and we have just the treat for you this Christmas with our annual family pantomime, Sleeping Beauty.

Written by Southport success story, Guy Unsworth, this is a fresh and fun take on a traditional tale. In a kingdom not so far from here Princess Beauty is about to turn 18 and become ruler but her wicked aunt Carabosse has been keeping the throne warm and is reluctant to give it up.

Fortunately, Fairy Fizz has flown in to combat Carabosse and fight for what is right. These characters may be familiar, but Beauty is no wilting maiden, and Fizz not only rhymes, but raps and riffs too. Also in the mix are Dame Maris Piper, her son Brian, a penguin called Polo and of course, a handsome prince.

Will Beauty succumb to a spinning wheel? Will good triumph over evil? There’s only one way to find out. Book your tickets, bring all of your family and friends and be ready to cheer, boo, hiss and sing your stockings off.

The stellar cast have been whipped into shape by the talented trio of celebrated director Stephen Hughes-Alty, melody enticing musical director Adam Dutch and high-class, high-kicking choreographer Pippa Morris. The opening night is Friday, December 16, and there are a fabulous 15 opportunities to see this magical extravaganza, running until Sunday, January 2, 2023.

Some of the matinee performances now have very limited seats so hurry and book your tickets to ensure you are not disappointed. On Tuesday, December 27, there are two opportunities to attend performances with British Sign Language interpretation with a matinee at 1pm and a further performance at 5:30pm.
