This week we are delighted to say thank you so much to all of you who joined us once more at the Little Theatre for the performance of Swan Song on Monday, July 5.

Feedback from our patrons was overwhelmingly positive, not just for Andrew Lancel’s poignant performance, but for the overall smooth running of the socially distanced event.

We are very grateful to our committees, volunteer staff and the bar team for their preparation and of course to you.  We do this for the audiences and our community and it was wonderful to be able to welcome you through those doors again.

We also know that some of you were unavailable, or want to wait a little longer. We are still planning on bringing you our incredible Youth Theatre and a suite of shows for 2021/2022 so there will be many more opportunities to enjoy our beautiful theatre and support the arts.

Our young performers are now in rehearsal for Fame! The Musical, having attended safe and socially distanced auditions and the preparation for them. As ever, the wealth of talent is astounding and they are sure to bring you yet another high energy production.

We will soon be able to share details of our proposed season. The plays are selected, the production teams are being finalised and poster designs are being plotted. Our wonderful members who do such a fine job of keeping you safe, guided, fed and watered are confirming their availability and are very excited to get back to business.

You will also recall that we were due to celebrate our centenary season in 2020-2021. We have brought you some virtual celebrations in the form of a theatre tour, as well as our Centenary Ode.

Our next offering will be an entertaining and engaging look back over the last 100 years. The visual offering featuring significant moments in the history of the club, cleverly weaving in the events and fashions from the decades past.

You will be sure to spot some familiar things, no matter what your frame of reference and you will want to watch it more than once as it is so packed with facts.
