PANTO TIME: The cast of Sleeping Beauty 2022

Last weekend our family pantomime, Sleeping Beauty opened to packed houses.

Our competition winners enjoyed their first night tickets and we have also been joined by some wonderful supporters of our theatre and Southport as a whole who have shared their reviews. The traditional characters with a modern twist are delighting our audiences from the tiniest tots and right across the generations.

It is so lovely to hear parents and grandparents tell us that they have been attending the Southport Dramatic Club pantomime since they were children too!
There are still plenty of performances left so if you have not booked your tickets, there is still time.

Life at The Little Theatre column: "Gather your loved ones, come and be wowed!"

This year’s show was written by former Youth Theatre member Guy Unsworth, who has forged a brilliant career as a writer and producer. In this specially adapted version, first performed professionally in Hastings, we meet the feisty Beauty (Emily Bloom).

She is about to turn 18 and take her place on the throne which was held by her parents until they mysteriously vanished. Caretaker ruler the cruel but beautiful Carabosse (Janine Burrows) wants to stop her at all costs.

Fortunately, Beauty has allies in the form of her best friend Polo the penguin (Lucas Goodman) as well as Dame Maris Piper (Rob McGregor) and her son Brian (Peter Forshaw). Fairy Fizz (Sian Woolley) is on hand to bring a touch of magic and Prince Istuna (Harry Corcoran) provides a new path for Beauty too.

Those of you who visit us often and also enjoy musicals when Southport Spotlights perform at the Little Theatre will recognise many of the super talented cast and know the calibre of talent we are boasting. Our production team and the pantomime band are all skilled and experienced superstars so an amazing time will be had by all.
