Tomorrow night (Wednesday) the Guys and Dolls of Maghull MTC are hoping Luck Will be a Lady and you’ll all Sit Down (without rocking the boat) to enjoy their summer show.

From June 15-18, journey back in time and to New York City for their vibrant version of the classic musical. Will Nathan Detroit win his bet with Sky Masterson and persuade wholesome Sarah Brown to an international date? Will Miss Adelaide ever get Sky down the aisle?

Guys and Dolls made its Broadway premier in 1950. A movie version starring Marlon Brando and Fred Astaire followed in 1955 and it is still a firm favourite.

The company were so keen to ensure they had contingencies after the last couple of years that most major roles have had an understudy.  These actors will get their chance to perform at the matinee on Saturday afternoon.

The talented and versatile cast have been announced on Facebook and Instagram where you can find out how they are like their characters and why the production team think you will love this superb show.

To book tickets visit their website or contact the box office.

From June 29 to July 2 we will have another NYC based show as Southport Spotlights invite you to ‘The 25thAnnual Putnam County Spelling Bee’.

This hilarious and fast paced musical follows the trials and tribulations of half a dozen kids who are all hoping to win the competition. As it unfolds, we learn more about them as well as the event staff and prefects.

The show evolved from an improvised comedy play into this well rounded musical and it has enjoyed success on both sides of the pond. The Broadway premier was in 2005 and the West End run in 2011.

To find out more about the characters and see behind the scenes of rehearsals, follow the company on Facebook and Instagram.  For tickets visit Ticketsource, call 07927 331 977 between 10am and 3pm or via box office from 22June.
