The cast and crew of Death of a Salesman are on the road to recovery and still on track to be bringing this classic to our stage from July 15-23 2022.

The theatre is still a hub of activity as we have three shows in rehearsal currently and visiting companies on the horizon.

The Wolves of Willoughby Chase is our Youth Theatre production this spring. Paul Wilkinson is directing this adventure which will be performed from March 8-12 2022.

Last year our talented pool of performers were portraying students and teachers in 1980s New York.  Now they are bringing to life characters in an alternative reimagining of England in 1832.

Lydia Baldwin plays Bonnie, her parents are going away to convalesce and have invited her cousin Sylvie for company. Emily Bloom will play Sylvie and you may remember her as the younger Jane in our 2019 production Jane Eyre

Also invited to Willoughby Chase is Letitia Slighcarp, played by Lily Ashleigh-Reynolds, a fourth cousin who will be their governess.

When Sylvie arrives, so does the mysterious Mr Grimshaw and we realise that the wolves that roam this version of history are dangerous. Omar Hussein takes on the role of Mr Grimshaw – he is no stranger to this season, having taken roles in Fame, Loot and also Robin Hood.

Bonnie and Sylvia also have a run in with a pack but are saved by Simon the gooseboy who is played by Orlando Campolucci-Bordi.

It soon becomes apparent that an ally is essential as Miss Slighcarp reveals her true nature, being unkind to her wards and then banishing them to an orphanage run by Mrs Brisket, portrayed by Eliza Briscoe.

The novel on which the play is based was published by Joan Aiken in 1962 and was turned into a 1989 film starring Stephanie Beacham as Miss Slighcarp, Mel Smith as Mr Grimshaw and Geraldine James as Mrs Brisket.
