Life at The Little Theatre: Join SDC for 'I Did Something I Shouldn’t Have' this week

In October 2021, Ghostlight Performers made their debut in the Little Theatre bar with Grape Juice. The play had been written by an SDC member and he also took a role in it.

This week, we welcome them back for another page to stage achievement for playwright Paul James Green. I Did Something I Shouldn’t Have is a darker piece and will be performed over three nights from 12th-14th October.

It tells the story of the Parker brothers. Harrison, is 26 years old and portrayed by Paul. He is the older responsible brother who has held the family together since the loss of their mother.

Will, 23, is played by Oliver Ridgeway – when we meet him in the play, he is having counselling due to things that happened in his childhood. Sean,16, is played by Orlando Campolucci-Bordi.

He is too young to remember their absent father, but a school project makes him start to ask questions. When Sean’s friend Max (played by Joseph Bigley) suggests Sean tracks his dad down on his own, the idea is too tempting.

First time director Richard Michell has relished the challenge of this project and looks forward to welcoming audiences. Gary Simpson plays the villain of the piece, Vince Parker and says audiences should come and see this play as it deals with important social issues.

Phil Povey rounds out the cast in the role of counsellor, Lawrence Westbrook. He has enjoyed the role and thinks he would do well at the profession in real life.

The company of Home, I’m Darling continue to polish the next play in our subscriber season ahead of their run which starts on Friday 20th October at 7:30pm. Our new season layout means that the second show on Saturday 21st October will be a 2:30pm matinee followed by a Q&A in the bar with the cast and director.

The show then re-opens on Monday 23rd October and runs at 7:30pm each evening until Saturday 28th October.
