A Loughborough green project has invited Charnwood residents to attend its final carbon literacy course at Fearon Hall this month.
Local community group Transition Loughborough has invited people who live, work or study in the borough to join them for the in-person Carbon Literate Charnwood on Saturday, February 26.
The group has run the course three times online over the last two years after being awarded a grant by Charnwood Borough Council.
Caroline Harmon, a member of Transition Loughborough and the lead trainer for the course, said: "Most of us know that we urgently need to tackle climate change, but we don't always know where to start - it can feel a bit overwhelming.
"The course is packed full of information to help us all get to grips with the issue and make plans to tackle it in our lives and our communities.
"We've already had almost 30 people attend our three online courses and make pledges that will see significant carbon reductions in our local area."
Carbon Literate Charnwood is an accredited course created specifically for people living in Charnwood.
Jon Knight, a member of Transition Loughborough who is helping run the course, said: "The course is a great opportunity to meet online with others to come up with local solutions that will help our communities to flourish."
It aims to raise awareness of the carbon dioxide produced in everyday activities and give people the ability and motivation to reduce their emissions on an individual, community and organisational basis.
It is suitable for individuals, community group members, and the voluntary sector.
Cllr Emma Ward of Charnwood Borough Council, who attended a course earlier this year, said: "I thought I knew a lot about climate change before I started, but quickly discovered I didn't know as much as I thought!
"It really made me think about what more I can do on a personal and an organisational level."
The course is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project (CLP), with all attendees making two pledges to tackle climate change and receiving a certificate if the CLP is content.
Transition Loughborough said they were pleased to receive a Development and Engagement Grant by Charnwood Borough Council for the project.
