Macmillan Cancer Support Southport is back in full swing

HERE FOR YOU: We are back in full swing with groups, events, and activities

We are now settling into autumn, with the nights drawing in, and many of us have welcomed a change in the season and slightly cooler weather. Like a lot of organisations, Southport Macmillan Centre, has run a lighter programme of events over the summer, but we are back in full swing with groups, events, and activities.

We have some new groups starting this time, including chair-based exercise on Thursday afternoons and a new Breast Cancer Support Group meeting once a month on a Thursday evening. We have our Walking Group, Craft Groups, Social Groups and Singing Groups and 5K Your Way, all running as usual, with a new Macmillan Walk in the pipeline for the Ainsdale area.

Do contact us at the Centre for the details and to book a place on any of our groups. We are beginning series of talks at our Coffee and Chat sessions on the first Wednesday of the month at 2pm.

The next meeting is on the 4th of October when we will have a talk on Scam Awareness from Merseyside Police and the HSBC Bank.  This should be a very useful session.

Our Centre exists for the benefit of anyone affected by cancer in the Southport and Formby area, so we are also holding outreach information stands and drop-ins in Formby Library and Ainsdale Lunch and Leisure to make sure that everyone can access our support if they need it. Please contact the Centre for further details.

Cancer Specialist Social Prescribing Link Workers will be available at these events to give information and support.

Southport and Formby Macmillan Centre is here for anyone affected by cancer who is registered with a Southport and Formby GP. We provide information and support, be that emotional, financial, or practical.  

We have a team of experienced Cancer Specialist Social Prescribing Link Workers, who work closely with GP Surgeries to help you when you need it.

You can access our service by requesting a referral from your GP or you can simply give us a ring or drop-in. We are open from 10am to 4pm from Monday to Friday and would love to see you.
