Chris Martin has been given a first start in a Reading FC shirt for Tuesday night's clash at Nottingham Forest (7.45pm kick-off).

The on loan striker has made two substitute appearances so far following a switch to Royals on deadline day from Derby County.

Martin scored his first goal for Reading in the last game - a 2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough just over a week ago.

Mo Barrow also returns to the side following illness but John Swift misses out completely due to a hamstring injury.

Royals are set to play with a 4-3-3 formation, with Barrow and Sone Aluko playing alongside Martin up top.

Leandro Bacuna, Joey van den Berg and Liam Kelly will make up the midfield.

Reading: Mannone, Gunter (c), Richards, Moore, Ilori, Van den Berg, Bacuna, Kelly, Aluko, Barrow, Martin.

Subs: Jaakkola, Evans, McCleary, Edwards, Clement, Böðvarsson, Blackett.

Nottingham Forest: Pantilimon; Darikwa, Figueiredo, Fox, Osborn; Watson, Colback; Lolley, Tomlin, Dowell; Brereton.

Subs: Kapino, Guedioura, Bridcutt, McKay, Cash, Fuentes, Bouchalakis.
