Meet Kevin - the Guinness World Records' tallest dog!

Introducing gentle giant Kevin, the world’s tallest dog! Standing at 3ft 2in (0.97 m) tall, the three-year-old Great Dane has been officially verified by Guinness World Records as the tallest pooch on earth.

Kevin belongs to the Wolfe family, Tracy, Roger, Alexander, and Ava, and lives with them in Iowa, in the USA, along with his animal siblings: three dogs (including his best friend, Tuck the Decker Rat Terrier), four cats, chickens, goats, and horses. After the sad loss of their previous dogs the Wolfe family weren’t thinking about finding another, but when a friend posted about the last Great Dane of a litter that was looking for a home, there was no question about having him.

Named after Kevin from the film ‘Home Alone’, the pup grew quickly, not out, but up, and by the time he was a year old, the family believed he was one of the tallest dogs they had seen, and he just kept growing. Tracy said: “Kevin is the epitome of a gentle giant.

“In fact, he is scared of most things. He is terrified of the vacuum, he won't let it come within six feet of him. He will jump and run to get away from it.”

Kevin is also amazing with other dogs, although they can understandably be nervous around him at first. In an attempt to appear smaller and less intimidating, he has been known to crouch and crawl.

Kevin stands 2 ft 10.41 inches taller than Pearl, the current shortest dog living who is 3.59 inches (9.14 cm) tall. To put it into perspective, that’s about ten Pearls stacked on top of each other would equal Kevin’s height.

The pup has a great relationship with everyone, but shares a particularly strong bond with 12-year-old Alexander, with Tracy saying “they have been pals since the start, and would lie together on Kevin's couch.” With his impressive stature and loving personality, Kevin is hard to miss.
