Meet Santa at Christmas fun day in Tilehurst

Children will be able to meet Santa Claus at Christmas fun day for families at Meadway Sports Centre.

The festive fun day on Wednesday, December 20 is part of the centre's Christmas activities.

The morning kicks off with a family Christmas swimming session between 10.30am and 11.30am.

The swim session is followed by Christmas activities in the main hall, between 11.30am to 2.30pm (child £5.95, adult £2, under twos go free), including:

  • Santa visit with photo sessions – props available for selfies and family pictures, with free chocolate coins for kids to take away;
  • Craft stall selling lots of items ideal for Christmas presents;
  • Craft corner making Christmas cards, personalised baubles, Christmas tree decorations and more;
  • Soft play for under fives and bouncy castle for all ages;
  • Pets Corner provided by Our Amazing World – a range of animals will be on show for the children to look at and some even to hold.
  • Coffee and snacks will be available for purchase from Kingdom Coffee.

Councillor Sarah Hacker, Reading Borough Council's lead member for sports, said: “We have lots of fun Christmas themed activities throughout our leisure centres this December.

“Why not get ready for Christmas and let the kids burn off some energy by joining in our Christmas Fun Day – there is something for everyone to enjoy!”

For the swim session tickets, the prices are £10.80 for two adults and two children. Individually, a child's ticket is £5.95, an adult's £2 and all under 2s go free.
