Members morning seeks to welcome new faces to social group

A SOCIAL activity group for retired and semi-retired people is sending an open invite for more members to join.

Macclesfield u3a is back up and running for spring and are holding a Members’ Morning at Calvary Church, Earlsway, on Thursday, March 24.

All are welcome to attend and find out more.

Chairman Alec Johnston said: “We cover a wide range of activities, including outdoor pursuits, arts and crafts, photography, books, bridge, Mah Jong, social activities, and much more.

“We are a mutual self-help organisation of retired or semi-retired members who wish to come together to socialise, learn and keep active.

“We do not run formal courses and no qualifications are necessary to join. However, you will learn a lot, and make many friends from all walks of life.

“New groups are created based on the interests of the members.“

Macclesfield u3a is a Cheshire charity that is run entirely by volunteers.
