A memorial Christmas tree has been put up in Pilgrims Hatch to commemorate those who have died during the year.
During November, Bentley Crematorium asked families to dedicate a personalised star to their loved ones, which have now been placed on the tree.
The crematorium team explained they felt it was “important to pay tribute to their community during such a difficult year”.
The 10 foot tree has been placed by the flower court at the Brentwood, Essex crematorium.
A plaque has also been placed at the base of the tree in recognition of those who showed “strength” during the pandemic.
Lee Johnson, from Bentley Crematorium, said: “This year has been immensely challenging for our community and will be particularly hard for those who are recently bereaved.
“With many memorial services and events unable to go ahead, we hope that our memorial Christmas tree offers comfort and reflection for those that have lost loved ones this year.”
The crematorium has also made a donation to Essex Air Ambulance and Essex Wildlife.
