Merseyside Swimming: Warrington Masters celebrate record breaking performances in Glasgow

SUCCESS: Russ Mason, Lindsay Houlston and Ben Harkin of Warrington Masters

It is celebration time for Warrington Masters after some record breaking performances at the Scottish Masters Championships in Glasgow.
Ben Harkin set a new British Record in the 50m & 100m Backstroke and also took first place in the 100m Butterfly, 100m Individual Medley, 50m Breaststroke and 50m Freestyle, whilst Russ Mason set new British Records in the 200m Backstroke and 100m Individual Medley, with a first place finish also in the 200m Freestyle and second place in the 400m Freestyle. Rounding off a good weekend, Lindsay Houlston claimed gold in the 100m Freestyle and silver in the 200m Freestyle.
Nearer to home, in the Micro League at Leyland, Halton took 1st place, with some stand out performances from Dylan Taylor, Kaye Winter and Freya Karaski. Garston claimed third place with Alina Phillips, Alexandra Visockis Malys, Ben Stephenson and Edward Rushton being their major points scorers. At Blackpool Bootle came home in second place thanks to Emelia Klaslo, Sasha McNab, James Evans and Neve Scheinder. Ormskirk took third place at Preston with Emma Birmingham, Ethan Read, Harvey Banks and Lucy Paton-Hampton being impressive.

It's congratulations to City of Liverpool duo, Tyler Melbourne-Smith and Vadim Bosc who have both been selected for the British Swimming team selected to compete at the European Junior Swimming Championships in the Serbian capital of Belgrade taking place from 4th-9th July.
