Mole Valley businesses encouraged to sign up for new grants
The discretionary payments cover businesses who did not benefit from previous loans

An East Surrey council has announced a fresh slate of grants designed to keep businesses afloat during the current lockdown.
With £4 million paid in support grants paid out to over 500 businesses over the past few weeks, Mole Valley District Council, based in Dorking, Surrey, are now shifting their focus to helping businesses which did not meet the criteria set out in the previous round of grants, but have still suffered during the pandemic.
Councillor Clayton Wellman, cabinet member for sustainable economy, said while he wanted businesses to open as soon as possible: "This is of course entirely dependent on this lockdown being lifted which, in turn, is reliant on the number of infection rates and the overall R rate reducing. We can all continue to do our part by adhering to the rules in place.”
The deadline for the new round of grants ends on February 15. To check their eligibility, businesses can visit molevalley.gov.uk/businessgrants.
