MSP urges public to donate to Ayrshire cancer charity and help them reach their fundraising target
Ayrshire Cancer Support, which provides practical help and emotional support to people affected by cancer, are closing in on their target funding amount to open their second purpose-built facility, the new Ayr Centre.
Sharon Dowey MSP has urged people to dig deep and give what they can to help an Ayrshire cancer charity to expand.
Ayrshire Cancer Support, which provides practical help and emotional support to people affected by cancer, are closing in on their target funding amount to open their second purpose-built facility, the new Ayr Centre.
The organisation offers a range of services from providing transport and complementary therapies to offering expert information or to just being there to listen.
They have already raised £1.71 million towards the Ayr Centre out of a total target amount of £2.47 million.
South Scotland Conservative List MSP Ms Dowey, said the charity’s work was “vital” and encouraged local people to donate if they can.
Ms Dowey (pictured above) said: "It was great to meet with Sandra, Louise, Karen and Caroline to hear all about the incredible work they do at Ayrshire Cancer Support.

“They are currently raising funds to extend their facility so they can support more people with their vital services.
“This is the final hurdle. If as many people as possible dig deep and give what they can, we can make this new centre a reality.
“Any donation would go a long way to helping families struggling with a cancer diagnosis in Ayrshire, and I know your support would be greatly appreciated by the team."
