A mother was separated from her two-month-old baby after a gust of wind locked her out of her house in Reading.

The incident happened at 3pm at a home in Oxford Road, Reading, Berkshire, on Monday, February 5.

A crew from the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service was needed to help the woman.

Watch manager James Blake of from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The mum had popped outside when the wind closed the door behind her.

"Luckily a first floor window was open, so we used a ladder up through it, and managed to get entry to the property that way.

"After that it was just a case of opening the door."

The fire crew were on the scene for about 25 minutes before departing.
