New business brings sweet treats to Lynton

Sweet treats are aplenty in Lynton thanks to A Little of What You Fance.
From its inception during the first lockdown, artisan and food specialists A Little Of What You Fancy are continuing to grow in product range and popularity.
Daniel and Laura Whitfield opened their aptly titled shop and online store in August 2020 on Queen Street with a view of spreading their love of food.
Business co-owner Daniel said: “We have always supported small businesses whenever we could and good food has always been a vice of ours.
“Ever since we moved to the South West we have seen just how many amazing artisan food producers are actually out there. We said to each other ‘wouldn’t it be great if all of these products were in just one place’ and that was how it started.”
He added: “We began by stocking the shelves with products that we sourced from the South West with the premise that they were either artisan or award-winning, and we found that there were so many small independent businesses that stretched all the way across the country.”
Daniel explained that the website has some exclusive offers that won’t be offered in store: “We have lots of multi-buy offers on the website, so people can stock up on their favourite items and save some money at the same time.
“And until the end of April we have an exclusive offer available for readers of the North Devon Journal – enter code journal10 at the checkout to receive ten per cent discount on any and all website orders.
“From liquorice to cheese straws, from specialist oils to nougat. We even compile bespoke gift hampers upon request, so there’s something for everyone.”
The couple say running the shop has been exceptionally hard work.
Laura said: “Opening the shop in August was a baptism of fire.
“We were inundated with customers wanting our baked goods and hot drinks. We’re only a small shop but we will actually have to employ our son to help us through the next season.”
Laura added: “Without doubt the best part of the job is product testing. I saw a quote that sums up our ethos nicely: we don’t love it because we sell it, we sell it because we love it.
“We look forward to welcoming you when restrictions allow.”
