Nottinghamshire businesswoman selected for British team at World Breeders' Championships

Amelia Hope Waterhouse (pictured above) of Hope House Eventing near Tuxford in Nottinghamshire, has been selected to represent the Anglo European Studbook as a member of the Senior British Team at the International Young Breeders’ World Championships in Denmark from July 4 - 6. Amelia, 26, is already an accomplished event rider with an impressive competition record.

She founded Hope House Eventing Stud and Competition yard in 2019, shortly after graduating in finance and business from Sheffield Hallam University, in order to concentrate full time on breeding, producing and competing exceptional young sport horses with world class bloodlines. Amelia’s aim is to produce strong, sound horses with correct movement, athleticism, and a kind temperament paired with an intelligent mental aptitude through careful research and assessing conformation of stallions. Hope House foals have consistently achieved Gold Premium Awards at the British Breeding Championships.

Speaking on this exciting opportunity, Amelia said: “I am extremely honoured and proud to be selected to represent Britain and I look forward to meeting like-minded breeders from all over the world.”

Amelia and her team will take theory exams, assess horse turnout, loose jumping and conformation, give an in-hand presentation as well as presentations on good breeding practice and their vision of producing happy equine athletes.

Location: Tuxford in Nottinghamshire.
