Oddsocks presents a family-friendly Julius Caesar at Titchfield Park
A community news update from your area
Oddsocks Productions transforms classic texts into bold, innovative and interactive theatre that everyone can enjoy. With a rich history spanning 30 years, they have been touring both nationally and internationally, performing at theatres and open-air venues.
They have announced the return of Shakespeare in the Park this summer with a 'toga-lly' hilarious and family-friendly version of Julius Caesar at Titchfield Park on Sunday, June 30. Tickets are priced at just £16.50 per person.
Set in Rome, 44 BC, the story follows the egotistical Emperor Julius Caesar, who is feeling the heat - not just from the weather but also from his liberal senators. Rome is in chaos, trust in the government is weak, and the emperor's fate seems sealed.
This famous political coup gets the Oddsocks treatment with toga-tearing, Roman sword-swishing, preposterous puppetry, and the biggest battle scene ever staged by just five actors. Suitable for ages 7 to 107, the play can be enjoyed by all family members.
Elli Mackenzie, Oddsocks co-founder and producer, said: "We create theatrical experiences that are for everyone. We’ve created over seventy productions and performed to over three hundred and eighty thousand audience members in all weathers! No hierarchy or elitism, telling good stories in innovative ways to create a great night out.”
Oddsocks performs in all weather conditions, as long as it is safe to do so. With that in mind, dress accordingly, bring a low-backed outdoor chair or rug, a picnic, and your friends and family, and get ready to laugh your Oddsocks off.
