Oompa Loompas open library at Loughton school
'Being situated on the edge of Epping Forest in Loughton, the teachers and pupils have been keen to bring the forest in and have created a beautiful space to encourage a love of literacy and learning.'
Last week, Staples Road School in Loughton, Essex, re-opened its new forest-themed library for World Book Day,
Mr Wonka (the head teacher) officially opened the library with help from the Oompa Loompas (deputy head Claire Dawson and assistant head Mark Johnson).

One of the governors of the school said: "Our local primary school, which has been plagued by floods over the last two years is finally opening up its new library.
"Being situated on the edge of Epping Forest in Loughton, the teachers and pupils have been keen to bring the forest in and have created a beautiful space to encourage a love of literacy and learning.
"Its been a real labour of love for the deputy especially, and we've had amazing support from our local independent bookshop."
The library opened on Friday, March 04, when children who earnt golden tickets over the last week or so through extra efforts in reading were invited to the grand reveal with 'special guests' as the opening coincided with the school celebrating world book day.

Claire Dawson, deputy head at Staples Road School, added: "Thank you to the following volunteers for their hard work in bringing the library to life: our site manager Graham FitzGerald, parent helper Mrs Hawkins, local art student Emily Street, support staff Louise Marsden, Claire Richards and Maggie Wright for sorting all of the books, and Tania from The Bookshop, Loughton, for providing us with books linked to our topics.
