Phoenix FM: Brentwood quartet with 'fantastic sound' on new presenter's show
This week's column from Phoenix FM.
Brentwood band Where’s Sammy!? with new Phoenix FM presenter Halana Roma Palmer.
By Paul Golder
I always feel that Brentwood needs more and more local bands and singers no matter how many there are at a given time.
So it was great to welcome Brentwood band Where’s Sammy!? into the studio for the first time, joining our new presenter Halana Roma Palmer on her Saturday morning show Sunrise Sessions.
Singer and guitarist Dan and Jake formed the band about four years ago but they have really taken off over the last few months with the addition of Eoin and Lew.
The quartet take their influences from mid-2000s indie and alternative music - an excellent period of music well overdue a comeback - taking inspiration from bands like The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight and The Kooks.
They’ve got two tracks up on streaming services already - debut single Bliss and new track Vertigo Road.
The band also treated us to unreleased song Lois Lane, which they sang live on air.
The band’s songwriting is already very strong. They have a fantastic sound and I am sure they will go from strength to strength.
You can find our more about the band here and our interview and session is also online at www.phoenixfm.com.
