Phoenix Folk Nights are back as Haggerdash prepare to take centre stage

Ayr Phoenix Folk Club’s latest night of musical entertainment is on Tuesday, May 2, when Haggerdash take centre stage.

Haggerdash are Alan Jones (Concertina, Bouzouki, Guitar, 5-String Banjo) as well as taking lead vocals on many well-known and self-penned songs.

Alan is well known in folk music circles having previously played with Three’s a Crowd, The Govan Spoonful and Hot Toddy.

Also part of the group is Jack Bethel (Hammered Dulcimer, Fiddle, Whistle, Concertina).

Jack was a former member of the hugely popular band Setanta.

Joining Alan and Jack is Billy Stewart (Bouzouki, Guitar,5-String Banjo, Harmonica, Bodhran).

Billy takes lead vocals on quite a few well-known songs as well as performing his own compositions.

He is also a founder member of Haggerdash (pictured above at a previous concert).

They will be supported by the club’s stalwart floor singers plus Jack Law.

Doors open at the The Market Inn, Castlehill Road, Ayr, at 7pm and the show gets underway at 7.30pm.
