Phoenix nights is back with folk trio set to perform in Ayr

Ayr Phoenix Folk Club is to host another night of music on Tuesday, April 5 at 7.30pm.

The event takes place at the Ex-Services Club in Academy Street, Ayr, South Ayrshire.

Next month’s event will feature the vocal and multi instrumental- and talented- John Graham and Jim Jack.

They’ll be joined by Cy Jack.

A spokesperson for Ayr Phoenix Folk Club said: “Phoenix Folk Club are delighted and privileged to be one of those trio band occasions.

“John was a founder member of the legendary Clydesiders and his past career includes radio, television and theatre performances.

“And there’s more. The club’s great supporting floor singers will include a special spot by Frazer Bruce promoting his much acclaimed new book ‘Tales from the early Folk Scene’, published by ‘Living Tradition’ and edited by Pete Heywood.

“It’s a night definitely not to be missed.”

In other news, the club’s last night of music helped raise funds for the victims fleeing war-torn Ukraine.

A spokesperson added: “We had a great night and a special enhanced raffle took place. We managed to donate our takings of £120 to the Ukraine humanitarian cause.”
