A local school played host to a theatre company who performed a production for young people focused on looking into  knife crime and youth violence.

Perception Theatre Company performed CUT at Alsop High School in Walton, Merseyside to help pupils explore how a needless dispute can lead to disastrous consequences.

The play is touring schools, and pupils in year nine and 10 watched the powerful and emotive piece when it visited their school.

CUT tells the story of Jamie who recalls to the police the night his best friend was murdered. It highlights the impact and repercussions of carrying a knife.

The script was written by a group of professionals who work to tackle knife crime with Merseyside and Cheshire Police.

Family members of victims and perpetrators also helped to create the story.
