Police seize weapons and drugs in Macclesfield
Three people arrested after a stop check on a vehicle
WEAPONS and drugs were seized following a vehicle stop check in Macclesfield.
Police stopped a Mercedes on Hulley Road on Tuesday, February 1, at around 3.50pm and arrested three people.
Officers found two large machete-style knives and quantity of class A drugs.
A man, 46, from Eccles, and two boys, aged 14 and 15, from Salford, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
All three have been released under investigation until May 2.
Detective Inspector John O’Driscoll, from Cheshire Police, said: “This is a great result which has resulted in the removal of a number of dangerous weapons and illegal drugs from the streets.
“The corrosive effect of illegal drugs on communities cannot be understated.
"Behind every single drug deal there is vulnerability and misery and we are committed to tackling the problem and targeting those involved."
