Primary school students get 'Healthy Inside and Out'

Over 200 pupils from St Bede’s RC Primary School and Nursery in Jarrow, Tyne and Wear, took part in a new, six-week, 'Healthy Inside and Out' programme.

Each week of the programme focused on a different aspect of health, and offered a huge range of activities to help promote physical and mental well-being, as well as increasing the levels of physical activity in pupils.

As well as in-school activities, families were encouraged to send in their own fitness selfies, as a way of encouraging pupils and parents to be active at home too.

Students from St Bede’s RC Primary School and Nursery have been getting healthy inside and out.

Throughout the six weeks, pupils were encouraged to get active in the playground, make healthy food choices and take care of their teeth, with experts in food, dental hygiene and physical fitness visiting the school to deliver lessons on the importance of self-care.

As a fun way to finish the programme, pupils competed in a fun-filled sports day with winners gaining group house point and individual medals.
