Reading FC fans talked about a range of topics in this week's webchat.

Reporter Jonathan Low hosted the debate for fans on Thursday lunchtime as the future of boss Jaap Stam was talked about, along with the ongoing threat of relegation from the Championship.

There was also an update on striker Joseph Mendes and defender Tommy Elphick who have been out with knee injuries, while Jonathan also gave his verdict on debutant Tom Holmes.

Here are some of the main points from the webchat.

Stam future

Elm Park Exile asks: Do you think Stam will go in the summer if he isn't sacked before the end of the season? I think that it's either get rid of him now or keep him in hope we stay up and let him sort it out then."

JL: "I don't think he will go before the end of the season but that could change over the summer.

"There is a lot of dead wood (again) which needs sorting out this summer and a fresh pair of eyes maybe needed to re evaluate everything.

"I can't see him walking away at any time, the only way he will go is if he gets the push which at the moment is looking unlikely."

Team for Leeds

Brant Royal asks: "What team would you like to see line up against Leeds? Could you see Harriott coming off the bench?"

JL: "I reckon there will be a few changes for the game, so van den Berg and maybe Ilori coming back in. Bodvarsson may get a start ahead of Martin too.

"Won't be Harriott though, he's still a fair few weeks away of returning. Don't forget he's been out for more than year so he won't be rushed back."

Chris Martin

Trev asks: "Surely CM must lead the attack against Leeds. Wasn't the point of bringing him here so as to score the goals we so desperately need?"

JL: "He hasn't looked too good in the past couple of games so we'll see.

"Don't forget he has scored already - away at Boro - and hopefully he can get a few more before the end of the season.

"I think he needs someone alongside him ideally, but not sure who that would be as Bodvarsson hasn't really worked."
