A popular event that aims to showcase Stafford’s position on the world’s stage makes a return to the county town this summer.

And organisers are asking businesses and organisations who want to display their global credentials to get in contact to be a part of the day.

It will be the fifth year that Stafford in the World has been held and the event will take centre stage in Victoria Park, Stafford, Staffordshire as part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations in June.

The event was last held in the Market Square in 2019 - but was been shelved in the following two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The day is expected to include singing and dancing performances with a host of stalls aimed at celebrating the huge variety of links the town has with many different parts of the globe.

In previous years thousands of people have come into town to see what is on offer and take advantage of what charities, business and community groups have to share.

To find out how to be a part of the event - which will run between 9am-4pm in the park on Thursday 2 June - visit the Stafford Borough Council website.

The festival has been more popular with shoppers and visitors each year with more than 25 organisations attending in 2019 including Staffordshire Pirang Partnership, Chernobyl Children’s Project, Soroptimist International and the University of Wolverhampton.

Councillor Jeremy Pert, Cabinet Member for Communities and Health, said: “It will be great to see Stafford in the World return.

“The county town has an amazing variety of unknown connections around the globe and we want this day to be a fantastic opportunity to showcase them. The greater the variety the better.

“I’m very pleased the event will coincide with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations taking place in the park on that day and will be another wonderful tribute to Her Majesty as Head of the Commonwealth and an iconic and respected monarch across the world.”
